Two Chinese silk embroidered children's festival hats, early 20th century, possibly Yunnan Province, the first worked in coloured and gilt threads with birds and flowers on a red ground, beneath a foliate surmount, the sides applied with two fish, the back with pendant and tassels, width 24cm, the other worked in coloured threads with a pair of fenghuang and flowers on a blue ground, hung with tassels, width 24cm. Provenance: the property of a West Sussex lady collector.
