A Japanese lacquered wood jingasa (ceremonial military hat), Edo period, of shaped oval bowl form, the top decorated with a gilt dragonfly and foliate mon, on a dark brown ground, the underside with five red dragonflies, width 34.7cm, length 37.2cm.
