(Browning, occasional spotting, lacking frontispiece, minor corner creasing.) Contemporary calf (upper hinge broken, sunning to spine, rubbing). Note: dated from plate opposite p.11. Provenance: Elizabeth Parry (morocco name-plate to the front pastedown). New 'Household' edition, 8vo (223 x 146mm.) Numerous woodcut illustrations in the text, index and 2pp. publisher's advertisements to rear, advertisement for 'Swinborne's Patent Refined Isinglass' mounted to front and rear pastedowns. (Spotting to front and rear endpapers, toning.) Original black morocco-backed burgundy cloth, gilt lettering to spine (fading and rubbing to spine, minor loss to top of spine panel). - And a further three volumes related to French cuisine (including Alexandre Viart's 'Le Cuisinier Royal' [with mounted printed recipes of contemporary dinners for royal events on front and rear blanks], 1846, 8vo, and Louis Eustache Ude's 'The French Cook, A System of Fashionable and Economical Cookery, for the Use of English Families', 1827, 8vo) (4).
