(Spotting to plate margins, toning, offsetting to titles.) Contemporary calf, two red morocco lettering pieces to the spines (lightly rubbed extremities). – And a further six volumes, mostly relating to Lancashire (including a signed copy of R. DRAWING. – Johann Daniel PREISSLER. Theoretisch-Practischer Unterricht im Zeichnen. Nuremburg: Preisslers Erben and Stein, 1798-1808. Parts 1-6 (of 7). Folio (383 x 242mm.) Engraved frontispiece, title-page for each part, 100 engraved plates showing how to draw the face, the body, flowers and landscape, numerous text leaves. (Occasional light browning, spotting to the text leaves and titles, small paper repair to frontispiece, minor finger-marking.) Early 20th century boards (extremities rubbed). Note: Preissler was head of the Nuremburg Akademie and the affiliated drawing school. Part 5 has a slightly different to title to the rest: ‘Instructions to Draw Native Country Flowers in the Natural Dimension’, and Part 6 also a different title: ‘Instructions to Draw Beautiful Landscapes and Prospects’.

(Toning, occasional corner crease.) Original blue wrappers (browning, some chipping, one lower wrapper detached). Note: includes the Christmas Number for 1867 which contains ‘No Thoroughfare’ by Wilkie Collins and Charles Dickens. A run from 1863 until 1894, but lacking issues for 1868-1870. – And a further ten issues of original extra -numbers from ‘All the Year Round’, 1882-1893, 8vo) (39).

Original card wrappers for eight volumes, original pictorial boards for three volumes, and 1901-1903 volume bound in contemporary red cloth (chipping and rubbing to all extremities, some creasing to card covers, lower wrapper of ‘1902’ is missing and upper wrapper detached, staining to ‘1903’ covers). Note: comprises the annuals for the years 1901-1903, 1902, 1903, 1905, 1909-1910, 1911-1912, 1912, 1912, 1913, 1914, 1915 and 1921. There were no volumes for the years 1904, or between 1916 and 1920 (12).
