A Chinese hardwood single pedestal writing desk, late Qing dynasty, the gallery back carved and pierced with birds amidst fruiting vine, flanked by a shelf, cupboard and drawer to one side and single drawer to other, each front carved in low relief with birds and blossoming branches, the panelled top above an arrangement of seven similarly decorated drawers and a pair of lion mask shouldered scroll legs with carved peony decoration, on claw and ball feet, height 167cm, width 94cm, depth 71cm.
