Note: the Battle of Aliwal was fought on 28th January 1846 between the British and Sikh forces in Northern India. Britain's victory in the battle is regarded as the turning point in the first Anglo-Sikh war.

Toyokuni III (Kunisada) - two Japanese woodblock oban tateye prints, mid-19th century, one depicting a Kabuki actor in samurai robes holding the head of a fox in his left hand, 35cm x 23cm, the other depicting a Kabuki actor wearing samurai robes, 33cm x 24cm, both framed and glazed.

Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797-1861) - a Japanese woodblock print from the series 'Toto Meisho' (Famous Views of the Eastern Capital), depicting Tsukuda Island with a ferry passing under Etai Bridge, 25.8cm x 25.5cm, framed and glazed, together with two woodblock oban tateye prints of bijin by Toyokuni III (Kunisada), and two woodblock prints depicting cranes and geese, all framed and glazed.

A Chinese export watercolour painting on rice paper, mid-19th century, depicting a pair of pheasants perched upon a pine branch and rocks, 19cm x 30cm, together with an export watercolour on paper depicting two river boats with trees and pagoda beyond, 19cm x 28.5cm, both with card mounts.

Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797-1861) - two Japanese polychrome woodblock oban tateye prints, the first depicting a kneeling warrior carrying a fallen ox on his back, 38cm x 25.8cm, the second depicting a samurai warrior under attack from a barrage of arrows, 36cm x 25cm, both with card mounts.

Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797-1861) - a Japanese polychrome woodblock diptych print, circa 1851-52, depicting the Battle of Yashima, 36cm x 49.7cm (two from a triptych), and an oban print from the centre section of a triptych, circa 1846, depicting Autumn Moon at Kanzaki with Higuchi Jiro Kanemitsu hurling a huge anchor, 37cm x 25cm.

Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797-1861) - a group of four Japanese polychrome woodblock oban tateye prints, comprising a diptych depicting a dense gathering of seated samurai, actors and bijin, 36cm x 49.5cm, another depicting a seated dignitary and kneeling attendants, 36cm x 25.5cm, and two of actors in samurai robes, some with card mounts, together with two Toyokuni II woodblock prints.

A Sino-Tibetan bronze figure of Buddha, 20th century, modelled seated on a double lotus throne, height 13.5cm, together with a small group of South-east Asian works of art, including a Tibetan copper spherical prayer wheel, length 22cm, a Canton carved walnut, decorated with figures, length 4.2cm, and a carved and stained mouse and apple netsuke.

A Japanese Fukagawa blue and white porcelain vase, 20th century, of ovoid form, painted and gilt with a lily spray, underglaze blue factory mark to base, height 19.4cm.

A group of ten Chinese green glazed pottery tiles, Eastern Han style but 20th century, each moulded in relief with a pair of standing animals, each 10.2cm x 9.3cm.
