A Chinese famille rose export porcelain punch bowl, Qianlong period, the exterior painted and gilt with two birds in a fenced peony garden, diameter 29.2cm (damaged and repaired), with carved hardwood stand, together with a group of seven Chinese export bowls, 18th century, painted with figural and floral decoration, diameters ranging from 13.5cm to 15.2cm (faults). Provenance: from the private collection of David Armitage, former conservator to the Department of Eastern Art at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, between 1970 and 1999.
