A pair of Japanese Satsuma earthenware vases, Meiji period, of slender tapering cylindrical form, painted and gilt with opposing figural panels of samurai and bijin, reserved against a ground of simulated brocade, unsigned, height 25.2cm (one with chipped base), together with a Satsuma earthenware jar and cover, Meiji period, painted with figural, floral and landscape panels, on tripod feet, height 12.2cm (faults).
