LOT 1280
A large Chinese three-colour brass padlock, Wanli style but possibly later, constructed in three parts, the rectangular body decorated with pierced foliate roundels within silvered panels with pierced apertures and copper coloured line inlay borders, the key with waisted handle, total length 45.5cm. Note: a smaller Chinese brass padlock of the same design with near identical decoration was sold by Wooley & Wallis, Lot 24, 20th May 2015. That padlock carried a six-character reign mark of the Ming Emperor Wanli (1573-1620) and was of the period.
