Silver and Plate

An Edwardian silver menu holder, formed as two upright discs on a circular base, Chester 1903 by Sampson Mordan & Co Ltd, height 2.5cm, together with a silver toy caster in the form of a Jersey jug, Birmingham 1908 by J. Collyer & Co, height 4.7cm, a silver toy flour dredger, Chester 1929, a silver and mother-of-pearl folding fruit knife, a silver propelling pencil by Sampson Mordan & Co (lacking interior), and a silver spoon.

A George V silver and mother-of-pearl handled part dessert set, comprising eleven knives and eight forks, Sheffield 1911 by Harrison Brothers & Howson, and a matched silver and mother-of-pearl fruit knife, Sheffield 1936 by Alexander Clark & Co Ltd, within an oak case, together with a part set of eleven silver and mother-of-pearl handled butter knives, Sheffield 1949, 1950 and 1951 by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd, cased.

Two mid-18th century silver punch ladles, each fitted with a twisted whalebone handle, lengths 33.5cm and 36.5cm, together with a small group of plated items.

A plated three-bottle tantalus, the beaded swing handle above beaded scroll legs and a similarly decorated canted corner rectangular base, on paw feet, fitted with three cut glass decanters and stoppers, length 32.5cm, together with a William IV silver 'Whisky' decanter label, London 1832.

A George II silver circular tray, the centre engraved with an eagle crest within flowers and scrolls, the raised scroll border with gadrooned rim, on scroll legs, London 1753 by George Hindmarsh, diameter 28cm.

A Victorian silver milk jug, the 'U' shaped body decorated in relief with stiff acanthus leaves, flanked by a foliate capped scroll handle, London 1895 by Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater, height 9cm.

A Continental silver oval box with hinged lid, late 19th century, the lid embossed with cherubs within a scroll border, the sides with a continuous band of putti, length 14.5cm.

An early 20th century Russian silver circular rouge pot, probably Armenian, 76 zolotnik, the hinged lid engraved with the sun emerging from behind a mountain, the underside with a strapwork star motif, hallmarks to interior including Cyrillic and 'Eriwan' (Yerevan), diameter 4.8cm.

A George V silver mounted cut glass atomizer of globular shape with embossed foliate scrollwork, London 1913 by J.H. Worrall, Son & Co Ltd, height 15cm, together with a small group of other mostly silver and silver mounted items, including a brush and comb set, cased, a pair of glove stretchers and a pair of sterling nutcrackers.

A late Victorian silver circular punch bowl with half-spiral reeded fruit and leaf decoration, on a circular domed foot, London 1897 by William Hutton & Sons Ltd, height 17.5cm, diameter 25.8cm.

A late Victorian silver christening mug, embossed with lobed panels beneath floral decoration with scroll handle, Sheffield 1900 by J.R. & W. Laing, height 10cm, together with a group of other silver items, including a pair of napkin rings, cased, other napkin rings, condiments and a group of collectors' spoons.

An Edwardian silver mounted rectangular curling tong heater box, the hinged lid decorated in relief with cherubs, birds and a squirrel amongst flowers and foliate scrolls, London 1901 by Charles Henry Dumenil, length 10cm, together with a silver mounted engine turned hand mirror, London 1922.

A George V silver curved square tobacco box with sprung action base, the top engraved with a central Knights Templar cross and Latin text 'Vult Deus Sanctum Amorem' (God Wills Holy Love), the interior of the hinged base inscribed 'Brother Lieutenant-General Sir Francis Lloyd... to Brother W. Oakley Welsford. A memory of much kindness and instruction in our mystic art, 27th September 1917', Birmingham 1911 by Martin, Hall & Co, width 9cm, together with a silver purse and a silver cigarette box.

A George VI silver comport of circular form with stylized castellated rim, on a similarly decorated stepped circular foot, Sheffield 1947 by Walker & Hall, diameter 20.5cm, together with a silver circular salt, London 1934, and a silver circular dish, Birmingham 1903.

An American sterling silver punch bowl of circular lobed form, decorated in relief with daisies, roses and leaves, by Whiting Manufacturing & Co, height 11cm, diameter 27.5cm.

An Elizabeth II silver mounted green glass globular match strike, London 1994, maker's mark 'C.G.', height 13cm.
