NOBBS, David. The Return of Reginald Perrin. London: Victor Gollancz, 1977. Signed and dedicated by the author David Nobbs to Leonard Rossiter ('to Len, with much gratitude for a wonderful interpretation, David'), first edition, 8vo (196 x 124mm.) (Mild toning.) Original red cloth (bumped to spine ends), dust-jacket (faint mark to upper cover). - And another David Nobb's book inscribed to Leonard Rossiter ('The Better World of Reginald Perrin', 1978, 8vo.) - And a quantity of Leonard Rossiter material. Provenance: the library of Leonard Rossiter. Note: Leonard Rossiter played the lead role of Reginald Perrin in the television series that ran from 1976 to 1979. The lot includes a book by the film director Alan Parker ('Un Cartoon de') inscribed by Parker to Rossiter. It also includes Rossiter's own copy of Pinter's 'The Caretaker' inscribed by him in pencil along with two books of August Stringberg plays inscribed by the translator, Michael Meyer, to Rossiter. Also included are seventeen theatre playscripts which chart the career of both Leonard Rossiter and his wife, Gillian Raine, with nine of them having their names inscribed in pencil by them, including two copies of 'Semi-Detached', the 1972 production of the play by David Turner where the couple first met (a quantity).
