A George V midshipman's dirk, retailed by Gieve, Matthews & Seagrove Ltd, with straight single edged blade, length approx 45cm, etched with crowned GRV cypher, anchor foliate scrolls etc, gilded brass hilt with lion's head pommel and wire bound fishskin covered grip, in its brass mounted leather sheath, the upper mount engraved 'H.C.M.' (defective, one quillion and securing cup missing).
