LOT 1144
A late 18th Century mahogany and brass telescope on a brass tripod stand and turned mahogany base, the solid one piece mahogany tube with internal fine rack and pinion focusing, total length approx 148cm, together with separate brass adjustable support stand. Note: this telescope may have been used at semaphore signalling towers between Plymouth and London during the Napoleonic Wars.
