LOT 1015
A late 19th Century French gilt metal and alabaster mantel clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the enamel dial with black Roman numerals, the backplate stamped 'J. Marti & Cie Medaille de Bronze', the case surmounted with a hat and agricultural tools, flanked by a seated classical maiden holding a sickle and corn, raised on a rectangular alabaster plinth, applied with lion mask and ring handles, acanthus leaf band, cartouche and interlinked circle motifs, on foliate scroll capped paw feet, height approx 36cm, with pendulum and key, together with giltwood stand, glass dome and ebonized base (some faults).
