RUSKIN, John. - William SHAKESPEARE. The Poems. London: William Pickering, 1842. Small 8vo (160 x 98mm.) Portrait frontispiece. (Minor spotting or browning.) Contemporary green morocco gilt, the covers elaborately tooled with a foliate panel in gilt, the spine in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second compartment, the others with repeat decoration in gilt, gilt turn-ins, g.e. (spine slightly faded and rubbed). Provenance: John Ruskin (bookplate to front pastedown; signature to preliminary blank).
