LOT 1155
An early 20th Century German oak longcase clock with eight day movement striking and chiming on nine tubular gongs, the brass break arch dial with silvered boss to arch above a silvered chapter ring with Arabic numerals, framing a pierced gilt foliate scroll fretwork panel enclosing silvered subsidiary seconds dial, all cornered with cast and pierced mask and scroll spandrels, the back plate detailed 'HWN Winterhalder Germany' and numbered '16869', the hood with moulded arch pediment and turned urn finials, above a carved fruiting vine frieze and glazed door, flanked by fluted columns and pierced side fret panels, the trunk with glazed door and mirrored panel back above a carved fruiting vine panelled base and turned feet, height approx 220cm, together with pendulum and three weights.
