LOT 849
A late 18th Century Scottish officer's basket hilted broadsword with straight double edged blade, length approx 84cm (areas of rust), forged basket hilt incorporating two crowned thistles within circles, wire bound polished hardwood grip (wormed), part globular pommel with thistle terminal, in the upper section of its leather scabbard. Note: reputedly carried by an officer serving in the Seaforth Highlanders.
