LOT 1098
An early 18th Century and later green chinoiserie japanned longcase clock, the five pillar brass eight day movement striking on a bell, the brass break arch dial with silvered chapter ring, Roman numerals and Arabic minutes, framing a matt centre with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, beneath a silvered boss to the arch inscribed 'Samuel Berry, London', all cornered with cast and pierced brass spandrels, the later case with all-over gilt chinoiserie decoration on a green ground depicting figures, flowers, birds, lattice and scrolls, the arched hood with domed caddy top surmounted with three brass flame finial above blind fretwork red ground frieze panels, glazed door and turned columns, the arched trunk door with glazed lenticle on a plinth base, height approx 255cm, with pendulum, two weights and winding key (alterations and restoration).
