A rare Spode blue printed earthenware water jug and cover, early 19th Century, decorated with the Old Peacock pattern, of baluster form with spout and overhead handle, printed 'Spode' to base, height approx 38cm (minor restoration to spout and hairline crack to cover). Note: this pattern is illustrated on page 207, plate P624 of 'Spode Transfer Printed Ware 1784-1833' by David Drakard and Paul Holdway where it is described as 'a very uncommon pattern'.
