LOT 865
A blue baize lined mahogany case for a Massey's Patent Log, the lid retaining instructions for use and fitted with a brass flush handle, engraved 'Captn. Lyons H.M.S. Madagascar', approx 49cm x 22cm x 14.5cm, together with service details, a South African war sketchbook of Cecil Pomeroy Russell Lieut. 17th (Leicestershire) Regiment, containing various sketches and a hand-drawn map of Ladysmith showing allied and Boer positions, another sketchbook, inscribed 'Rough Notes & Sketches, May & June 1869, Sicily, Calabria, Corfu, Albania & Thessaly', three further sketchbooks, a ledger, four small Victorian buttons, reputedly from an admiral of the fleet circa 1870, and a pewter Edward VII Coronation Medal.
