A scarce second model LeMat 70 bore nine shot single action open frame percussion revolver, number 2218, with sighted octagonal barrel, length approx 17cm, struck 'Systme. LeMat Bte. S.G.D.G. Paris', and 18 bore shot barrel, length approx 17cm, acting as cylinder axis, side mounted rammer incorporating detachable rammer for shot barrel, plain cylinder, hammer with hinged nose for barrel selection, London proof (defective, sideplate, barrel securing plunger and rammer securing spring missing, grips crudely replaced, worn overall), together with a handwritten account of use in action, other printed information etc.
