LOT 1055
A George II walnut longcase clock, with eight day movement striking on a bell, the brass break arch dial with silvered chapter ring and inscribed 'Jno Martin Bristol', framing a matt centre with silvered subsidiary seconds, date aperture and floral engraving, beneath a moonphase to arch, the hood with moulded break arch pediment above a glazed door and turned pillars, the trunk with arched door on a plain base and plinth, height approx 223cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: John Martin was a noted Bristol watch and clock maker working between 1722 and 1734.
