LOT 1095
An early 20th Century oak Gothic Revival longcase clock, the eight day three train movement with eight hammers chiming on tubular bells, a further hammer striking on a gong, and pull repeat mechanism, the brass arched dial with silvered chime/silent and chime selection indicators above a silvered chapter ring with gilt Roman numerals, the centre with silvered subsidiary seconds and inscribed 'Maple & Co Ltd. London', all against a ground of engraved scrolling foliage, above a steel and mercury compensated pendulum and silvered beat plaque, the hood with carved foliate gallery surmount above applied flowerhead and pinnacle mouldings, glazed door and pierced fret panels, the trunk with glazed door, moulded tracery and panelled sides on a stepped base and bracket feet, height approx 245cm, with three brass cased weights.
