COOK, Frederick A. Through the First Antarctic Night 1898-1899. London: William Heinemann, 1900. First trade edition, 8vo (232 x 149mm.) 3 colour plates only (of 4), numerous uncoloured plates. (Light browning, minor spotting to title, marginal tear without loss to p.341.) Original blue pictorial cloth blocked in white, spine gilt (extremities bumped and lightly scuffed, minor soiling, spine faded and slightly affected by damp, half-title and frontispiece loosely inserted). Spence 311. Provenance: The Michael Gilkes Collection.
