LOT 1063
A mid-20th century brass bulkhead timepiece, the eight day movement with lever escapement and detailed 'Smiths Astral', the 8-inch painted dial with Roman hour numerals, outer Arabic minutes, slow/fast indicator and inscribed 'H.M.S. Warspite, 1913-1947', diameter 26cm, with winding key. Note: recovered from officer's wardroom in 1947, on the decommissioning of H.M.S. Warspite. This timepiece has been in a private collection since the early 1960s.
