LOT 4040
A late 19th century Arts and Crafts oak, ebony, boxwood and mahogany bracket clock with eight day movement striking on a gong via an outside countwheel, the square brass dial with engraved Roman numerals, within a walnut surround inscribed 'Teach us to number our days' and dated and initialled '18:W.R.W:87', the case with carved oak fruiting vine and mask pediment above four boxwood and ebony columns with foliate carved capitals, the sides with fretwork flower motif and carved linenfold panels within ebony borders, on a stepped oak and mahogany plinth base, height 74.5cm, with pendulum and winding key (lacking minute hand).
