LOT 4059
A Victorian Gothic Revival cast brass door grill, designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin and manufactured by John Hardman & Co, the rectangular panel of pierced tracery and fleur-de-lis form, 54cm x 23.5cm. Note: grills such as this example were executed in several different patterns and typically mounted into the midsection of double-wide doors in the House of Commons. A similar panel can be seen at www.metmuseum.org.
