A pair of late 18th century 20 bore flintlock holster pistols by Griffin & Tow with slightly swamped barrels retaining traces of maker's name, length 17cm, signed rounded border engraved locks with swan neck cocks and unbridled frizzens, full stocked with silver grotesque mask butt caps bearing maker's mark 'IH' [probably John Hutson], silver trophy of arms escutcheons bearing traces of engraved crests, steel trigger guards and ramrod pipes retaining ramrods (restored condition, one butt cracked through and repaired with steel straps, both fore-ends part replaced, worn overall).
