A mid-19th century French ormolu cased carriage alarm clock by Paul Garnier, with eight day movement repeating and striking hours and half-hours on a bell, the enamel dial with blue Roman hour numerals and inscribed 'Paul Garnier Her Du Rois Paris' above subsidiary alarm dial with Arabic numerals, the elaborately cast rococo case with swing handle and glazed panels, the finely foliate scroll engraved solid back panel with shuttered winding holes, height 16cm, with winding key and tooled leather travelling case. Note: this clock was illustrated in Country Life, April 1973.
