A World War I Verners pattern VIII brass pocket compass, detailed 'No. 108051' and dated '1917', within a leather case, together with a collection of other scientific instruments, including a brass and mahogany octagonal barrelled single-draw telescope, a boxwood and brass folding 24-inch rule by Thomas Cox & Co, a boxwood double-sided rule, a brass pocket microscope with mahogany case/stand.
