A late 18th/early 19th century American figural mahogany decanter box with ebony and brass line inlaid decoration, flanked by a pair of brass drop handles, each backplate decorated with anchor motif, the interior fitted with an arrangement of seven rectangular glass decanters and six stoppers and two smaller glass flasks, each with gilt overlaid decoration, and two small drinking glasses, the lid interior with mirrored glass panel engraved with a crowned American eagle with banner inscribed with the motto 'E. Pluribus Unum' (motto of the United States of America), height 30.5cm, width 38cm (some faults and restoration).
