A late 18th century French ormolu mounted slate and marble portico mantel clock, the eight day movement with silk suspension and striking on a bell via an outside countwheel, the white enamel circular convex dial with black Arabic hours and outer minutes, inscribed 'Schmit A Paris', the case with floral and swag surmount above a flower festoon and pair of slate columns applied with ropetwist and floral decoration, flanked by a pair of foliate capped fluted tapering columns, on a Sienna marble break-bowfront base with applied beaded and foliate borders, terminating in disc feet, height 40.5cm, with flowerhead pendulum and winding keys.
