LOT 773
A Second World War period German radio receiver, finished in crackle field grey, with applied aluminium manufacturer's plate, impressed 'Type R3, Fabr. Nr. 12493, Volt 110-220/12', with leather carrying handle, height 23cm, width 35cm, depth 16.5cm. Note: purportedly taken from a U-boat and rewired (not tested), possibly from U-776 or U-1023, both of which surrendered in the Portland area, where the vendor's uncle was stationed when he obtained the radio.
