LOT 1155
An early 19th century French Empire ormolu mounted slate mantel clock, the eight day movement with silk suspension striking on a bell via an outside countwheel, the circular enamel dial with black hour numerals and Arabic outer minutes, inscribed 'Faizan à Paris', the case of obelisk form surmounted with an ormolu urn finial above applied cornucopia, mask and scrolling foliage, raised on four reclining lions, a rectangular plinth and turned toupie feet, total height 48cm, with pendulum and winding keys (minor faults).
