LOT 712
A George V Scottish officer's broadsword by Henry Wilkinson, number 51338, with straight double edged blade, length 83cm, etched with crowned GRV cypher, royal arms, thistles etc, nickel plated basket hilt with wire bound fishskin covered grip, doeskin liner and scarlet tassel, in its leather covered scabbard with nickel plated chape. Provenance: this sword was carried by 2nd Lieut. Alexander Paul Davidson, H.L I., who transferred to the R.F.C. obtaining pilot's licence No. 3321 on 3rd August 1916 and retired as an Air Vice Marshall.
