DICKENS, Charles. The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby. London: Chapman and Hall, 1839. First edition in book form, 8vo (209 x 130mm.) 39 plates by Phiz including the frontispiece. (Plates browned as usual, missing initial blank, half-title with section excised.) Near contemporary half-morocco over marbled paper boards (bumped to all extremities, some sunning to spine). Note: Contains some first issue points (missing the 'l' in will, 'incsribed' on p.138, but with 'sister' on p.123). - And with Dickens' 'Barnaby Rudge', 1841, 8vo. Provenance: The West Horsley Place Collection (2).
