MILITARY. - Brevet-Lieutenant Colonel J.F. MAURICE. Hostilities without Declaration of war… from 1700 to 1870. London: H.M.S.O., 1883. 8vo (246 x 146mm.) (Toning to margins.) Original red cloth, blind-stamped decoration, gilt titling (some sunning to spine, darkening to edges). Provenance: Robert Milnes-Crewe (presentation inscription to title-page 'Lord Houghton from the author', bookplate to front pastedown); The West Horsley Place Collection. - And a copy of the same work and another military volume (3).
