BEWICK, Thomas. A History of British Birds. Newcastle: 1832. 2 vols., 8vo (220 x 132mm.) Wood-engraved title vignettes, numerous wood-engraved illustrations and decorations, all by Thomas Bewick. (Some spotting, heavier to first and last few leaves of each volume.) Contemporary green straight-grain morocco gilt, by Riviere & Son, with five raised bands, lettered in the second and third compartments, the others with repeat decoration in gilt, gilt turn-ins, t.e.g. (some scuffing to covers) (2).
