REED, E.J. Our Iron-Clad Ships… their Qualities, Performances and Cost. London: John Murray, 1869. First edition, 8vo (213 x 131mm.) Folding frontispiece. (Light spotting to preliminaries, small crease to frontispiece.) Near contemporary morocco blocked in gilt and blind, four raised bands to the spine, gilt turn-ins, g.e. (some fading to spine). Provenance: Richard C. Rapier (morocco presentation bookplate from the 'Institution of Civil Engineers' in 1874). - And two more volumes relating to ships (H.W. Wilson's 'Ironclads in action', 2 vols., 1896, 8vo) (3).
