MEDICINE. A group of 3 autograph letters signed by Joseph Lister regarding a translation into French of Lister's papers on antiseptic surgery, dated 14th December 77 to 25th November 1878, 8pp. total, 18cm x 11cm, the final letter includes an annotated diagram of looped bandages and a splint. Note: Joseph Lister (1827-1912) was a pioneer of antiseptic surgery who introduced new principles of cleanliness which transformed surgical practice in the late Victorian era.
