A late Victorian Aesthetic period slate and enamelled mantel clock with eight day movement striking on a gong, the dial with gilt Roman numerals and inscribed 'Howell James & Co London', the gilt detailed rectangular case with six arches to pediment above a pair of inset enamel rectangular panels and central circular panel, painted with white and gilt foliate scrolls on a dark red ground, height 31.5 (lacking pendulum).
