SUSSEX. - Thomas Walker HORSFIELD. The History and Antiquities of Lewes and Its Vicinity. Lewes: Sussex Press, by J. Baxter, 1824-1827. 2 vols. in 1, first edition, 4to (257 x 191mm.) 30 plates (including the folding view frontispiece) in vol. 1, 2 folding genealogies, 10 plates in volume 2, 3 folding genealogies. (Spotting throughout, tape repairs to 2 genealogies, some creasing, browning.) Later brown cloth, gilt lettering to spine. Provenance: West Sussex County Library (bookplates to the front-free endpapers). - And five further volumes relating to Sussex (including M.A. Tierney's 'The History and Antiquities of the Castle and Town of Arundel', 2 vols., 1834, 8vo) (6).
