Alfred Kingsley Lawrence - Portrait of a Young Lady, oil on board, signed and dated 1923 and inscribed 'For Lois 1934' recto, label and further inscription verso, 39cm x 29cm, within a carved and composition gilt frame with corner cresting. Note: this painting was gifted by the artist to Lois Hamilton, née Martin, in 1934. Notably, Lois was the first wife of Patrick Hamilton, author of 'The West Pier' and '2000 Streets Under the Sky'.
