							LOT 1190
                A mid-18th century mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the brass breakarch dial with 'Tempus Fugit' boss to the arch above an engraved matt centre with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, framed by a silvered chapter ring inscribed 'Wm Gaite Shepton Mallet', all cornered with cherub and crown spandrels, the hood with swan neck pediment and brass urn finial above a carved oval paterae and fluted frieze, the glazed door flanked by Corinthian columns, the trunk with rectangular door, on a plain base and bracket feet, height 223cm, with pendulum bob (alterations and restoration, lacking weights and some faults).
