An 18th century oak longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch square brass dial with silvered chapter ring framing an engraved matt centre with silvered subsidiary seconds, date aperture and plaque inscribed 'Jno Mercer Hythe', cornered with cast and pierced gilt foliate spandrels, the hood with stepped caddy top above a blind fretwork frieze, turned columns and glazed door, the trunk with rectangular door on a plain base and plinth, height 208cm, with pendulum and two weights (some faults).
