A mid-20th century brass circular cased ship's timepiece, the eight day movement with platform escapement, the backplate stamped 'Coventry Astral Made in England' and numbered '288', the enamel circular dial with black Roman hours and slow/fast indicator and detailed 'H.M.S.', the case with hinged bevelled glass bezel, case diameter 23cm.
