LOT 1212
A mid-18th century oak longcase clock with thirty hour movement striking on a bell, the 10-inch brass dial with single hand and foliate engraved centre and inscribed 'John Muzzell Horsham', the chapter ring with Roman numerals, cornered with cast and pierced spandrels, the hood with moulded and dentil cornice above a glazed door and turned columns, the trunk with rectangular door, on a plain base and plinth, height 197cm, with pendulum and weight. Note: John Muzzell is a recorded clockmaker born in Bolney circa 1730 and working in Horsham until his death in 1789.
