An English Delft circular bowl, Bristol or London, circa 1740, painted in blue with a version of the Chinese Squirrel and Vine pattern, diameter 26.7cm (faults and restoration). Note: a similar bowl is illustrated by Michael Archer 'Delftware The Tin-Glazed Earthenware of the British Isles', page 296, F.25. Provenance: from the collection of the late Professor Maurice Stacey.
