LOT 1172
A George III oak longcase clock with thirty hour movement striking on a bell via an outside countwheel, the 11-inch square brass dial with date aperture and inscribed 'Thos Perkins Evesham', within a foliate engraved surround, the hood with moulded pediment and glazed door above an arched trunk door, on a plain base and bracket feet, height 188cm, with pendulum and weight (some faults). Note: Thomas Perkins is recorded in 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' by Brian Loomes as working in Evesham from 1757 until his death in 1785.
