A berettino maiolica syrup or wet drug jar, Deruta or Marchigiana, mid-17th century, the ovoid body inscribed 'A.D.LVPOLI' within a painted label against a ground of scrolling foliage centred by a star motif, with a straight spout and double scroll handle, on a circular foot, height 34cm (restored). Provenance: from the collection of the late Professor Maurice Stacey.
